Role Overview: MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequencies within a magnetic field to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging. They independently conduct MRI procedures, prepare and administer medications per regulations, analyze data, and ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, document clinical history, and respect confidentiality.
- Apply appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and adhere to ALARA principles to ensure safety and quality.
- Evaluate images for accuracy, proper positioning, and technical quality; manage data storage and transfer.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist with MRI interventions.
- Select pulse sequences considering protocols and data acquisition factors, demonstrating proficiency in routine and complex tasks.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and uphold organizational priorities.
Qualifications & Skills: Certifications by ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB with ARRT-MR, along with a graduate degree in Radiologic Technology (Bachelor’s preferred). Knowledge of MRI safety, technical expertise, and strong attention to detail are essential.
