Role Overview:
The Medical Social Worker applies social work expertise and clinical knowledge to educate and support patients living with kidney disease, focusing on enhancing their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychosocial assessments, participate in care planning, and manage services to help patients cope with chronic kidney disease and dialysis treatments. Support patients’ social and emotional well-being and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized care.
Qualifications & Skills:
Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution, with licensure (LCSW/ACSW preferred, MSW/LMSW required). Preferable experience in health and human services, with at least one year in a behavioral or healthcare setting. Strong interpersonal, goal-oriented, and relationship-building skills are essential.
