Medical Laboratory Scientist Educator – Per Diem

Role Overview: This position involves performing clinical duties as a medical laboratory scientist in a high-complexity laboratory and teaching medical laboratory science students, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The role balances clinical responsibilities with educational duties, fostering student and patient experiences aligned with core values.

Key Responsibilities:

Performing all duties and meeting competency expectations of a medical laboratory scientist

Collaborating with the education team to develop and deliver MLS curricula

Maintaining confidentiality in recording and reporting results

Troubleshooting, resolving, and reporting issues promptly

Engaging in continuous quality improvement and professional development

Participating in teamwork to optimize workflows and organizational goals

Modeling professional and service-oriented behaviors, including scholarly activity

Potentially serving on committees and participating in recruitment and professional activities

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science field OR equivalent experience with certifications and years of laboratory and teaching experience
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), with additional qualifications for adjunct roles
Strong knowledge of laboratory practices, confidentiality, and quality improvement
Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and contribute to educational efforts

Additional Details: This is an adjunct teaching opportunity primarily in a clinical environment. Candidates should possess relevant education and certifications, with preferred master’s degrees.
