Role Overview: The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing various manual and automated laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
Key Duties: Analyzing patient samples, verifying test result reliability, performing calibration and quality control, participating in proficiency surveys, maintaining instruments, and managing computer functions within LIS and HIS systems. Ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, and hospital policies, maintains documentation, monitors supplies, and provides customer service both face-to-face and via telephone.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires an Associates degree, valid certification (e.g., MLT or MT), and at least 1 year of experience in a CLIA-accredited lab. Must possess strong organizational skills, basic computer knowledge, and experience with systems like Epic or LIS preferred.
Additional Information: Adheres to all policies and procedures, participates in ongoing education, and performs routine maintenance.
