Role Overview: The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support in outpatient settings, collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure quality care.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare patients, collect vital signs and relevant information, assist during examinations and procedures, perform EKGs, wound dressings, phlebotomy, and laboratory specimen collection. Handle administrative duties such as scheduling, documentation, referrals, billing, and patient communication. Maintain a safe, sterile environment, inventory supplies, and support infection control protocols. Assist with patient education, support new staff orientation, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred; certification (CMA or RMA) required, with certification from recognized associations. Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to work as part of a team are essential. Flexibility to perform both clinical and clerical tasks is necessary.
Additional Requirements: Knowledge of electronic medical records, ability to perform technical duties competently, and adherence to infection prevention protocols. May involve travel and working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
