Role Overview
The Medication Aide/Med Tech ensures residents receive medications and treatments safely, accurately, and with dignity in a senior living setting. Key responsibilities include administering medications per physician orders, following the Six Rights of Medication Administration, documenting accurately in MAR/TAR, monitoring residents during and after medication passes, observing for health changes, reporting concerns promptly, completing narcotic counts, and maintaining clean medication areas.
The role plays a vital part in preventing medication errors, early health issue identification, and safeguarding resident safety through attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma/GED; age 18+
- Medication Administration certification
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Preferred: Senior care experience
