Mammography Technologist – Will Train

Role Overview:

This position involves performing diagnostic mammography procedures, including screening and diagnostic exams, at a healthcare facility. The technologist will operate equipment, prepare patients, and may learn additional responsibilities such as localizations, stereotactic, and contrast-enhanced biopsies. The role requires flexibility to rotate between multiple sites and locations, including mammography vans and specialized centers.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms independently and in various settings.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Learn and assist with advanced procedures like biopsies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate’s Degree or Trade School equivalency.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T. (R))) credential; RT (M) certification preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to train for Mammography (M).
  • Licenses such as IEMA (excluding MRI), and certifications like RTR, CT, MR, and others.
  • Preferred experience includes at least 2 years in mammography and additional certifications like CPR and IV therapy.

Key Duties:

  • Operate mammography equipment and ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform procedures accurately, adhering to protocols.
  • Maintain quality control and continue professional development in imaging techniques.
