LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse – Acute Care Medical and Oncology Unit

Role Overview: An Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, patient-centered care, contributing to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. The role involves direct care activities such as administering treatments, medications, and diagnostic tests, while addressing physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safety and satisfaction.
  • Reinforce patient and family education, discharge planning, and support throughout hospitalization.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Mentor and precept new staff and students, fostering a positive professional environment.
  • Participate in unit-based decision-making and evidence-based practice initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing.
  • Ability to work in a clinical environment, demonstrating professionalism and adherence to policies.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
