Overview of the Nursing Role
This position involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver patient care under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals or a Registered Nurse (RN). The role requires maintaining professional accountability and coordinating patient care across departments.
Responsibilities include:
Providing direct patient care in accordance with established protocols
Collaborating with other healthcare team members
Ensuring compliance with licensure and certification requirements
Maintaining current Basic Life Support certification and acquiring additional certifications as needed
Performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, and patient mobility assistance
Qualifications and Skills:
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent experience
Valid LPN license and adherence to state licensing requirements
Experience level can vary from new to seasoned practitioners
Physical capability to perform demanding tasks
Preferred certifications include IV certification within one year of hire and other unit-specific credentials
