The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the community.
Responsibilities include street outreach, coordinating needs before and after housing, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities. The team emphasizes member choice, harm reduction, non-coercion, and person-centered care. Post-housing, support continues for several months to ensure stability and independence.
This role involves fieldwork, periodic on-call duties, and flexible hours. It offers an exciting opportunity to impact community healthcare and improve lives in the Southern Tier. Candidates must have a licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with MSW candidates aiming for licensure and experience with homeless populations. Travel across three counties is required.
