The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team providing community-based care to street homeless and subway-dwelling individuals.
Work involves street outreach, coordinating needs pre- and post-housing, supporting daily living skills, offering counseling, and advocating for clients facing discrimination or healthcare barriers. The team emphasizes member choice, harm reduction, non-coercion, and person-centered approaches. Post-housing, the team supports participants for several months to ensure stability and independence. This field-based role requires flexible hours, periodic on-call work, and travel within three counties. Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree and licensure in social work, counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW candidates working toward licensure are eligible.
