Position: Registered Nurse, Interventional Radiology
Location: Elmhurst
Type: PRN
Requirements: 2+ years of Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab experience, IL RN license, graduate of NLN-accredited nursing school (BSN preferred, to be obtained within 5 years), BLS & ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing nursing care to IR patients
- Administering IV conscious sedation and medications under physician guidance
- Monitoring patient status during procedures and managing emergencies
- Starting IVs, managing central lines, and performing dressing changes
- Collaborating with radiologists, technologists, and care teams for safe, efficient procedures
- Supporting patient education regarding procedures, recovery, and follow-up
- Documenting care accurately in Epic
- Supporting quality and safety initiatives, including inventory management
- Precepting and mentoring new staff and assisting with team training
