Role Overview:
Provides direct patient care in an ICU setting within a Magnet-recognized hospital, performing procedures such as central venous, Swan-Ganz, and arterial line insertions, as well as managing advanced cardiac devices. The nurse promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and ensures safety and regulatory compliance. Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and cultural considerations. Participates in professional development and collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and communicate individualized care plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Active RN license.
- Preferred: 2+ years ICU experience, demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work alertly and safely in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties:
- Assess and plan patient care based on standards of nursing practice.
- Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and medication management.
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and professional growth activities.
- Respond to emergency codes and perform advanced cardiac procedures as needed.
