Role Overview: The physical therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to improve mobility, reduce pain, increase strength, and prevent deformity in patients with disease or injury. Services are delivered across the continuum, focusing on quality, cost-efficiency, and patient satisfaction, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treatment Planning and Care: Implements treatment plans, selects appropriate activities, revises goals with patient input, provides education, and offers discharge instructions and referrals.
- Patient Assessment: Collaborates with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, goals, and discharge plans aligned with patient needs.
- Documentation: Records evaluations, treatment sessions, education, and discharge details per departmental protocols.
- Professional Conduct: Maintains ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, and effective communication. Participates in meetings, training, and process improvements.
- Customer Service & Teamwork: Demonstrates a patient-centered approach, fosters a positive environment, and supports collaborative teamwork using service recovery principles.
- Professional Development: Engages in ongoing education, completes required competencies, and participates in orientation and training.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum education of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
- Licensure as a Physical Therapist and BLS certification is required upon hire.
- Effective communication, customer service focus, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
