The Family Practice with Obstetrics (FPOB) Physician provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, with a focus on prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum services.
Responsibilities include delivering full-spectrum family medicine—wellness exams, chronic disease management, urgent care, and minor procedures—along with obstetric care such as prenatal visits, labor, delivery (including cesarean if credentialed), and postpartum follow-up.
Care for newborns and pediatric services are also provided, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Additional duties involve participating in quality initiatives, patient education, documentation, community outreach, and hospital call coverage.
Qualifications include an MD or DO degree, completion of a family medicine residency, additional obstetrics training, current unrestricted medical license, and board certification or eligibility in family medicine. Preferred certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and ALSO.
