Role Overview: The Endoscopy RN provides primary nursing support to physicians and patients, assisting with diagnosis and treatment.
They deliver patient education, promote understanding of medical conditions, and ensure adherence to treatment plans.
The role involves teamwork, accountability for care delivery, and supporting other team members in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triages patient calls and facilitates appropriate treatment plans with providers.
- Obtains and documents patient history, vital signs, and prepares patients for examinations.
- Assists providers during procedures, collects specimens, and manages laboratory paperwork.
- Communicates with patients, provides instructions, and administers medications including IV therapies.
- Inspects diagnostic equipment, maintains asepsis, and prepares procedure rooms.
- Supports all aspects of daily clinic activities and patient education.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires graduation from a specialty training program and preferred endoscopy experience. ACLS certification is required within 6 months. Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical skills are essential.
