Emergency Department RN (36Hr, Nights)

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patients’ responses to health issues. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions, as well as coordinating care activities across disciplines.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assessment: Performs accurate multi-system assessments, identifies deviations, and reevaluates patients throughout care. Conducts discharge assessments.
  • Planning: Develops individualized care plans, coordinates care and discharge planning, delegates tasks appropriately, and establishes patient care priorities based on acuity and developmental needs.
  • Implementation: Initiates protocols, administers medications, performs procedures accurately, documents care properly, and responds effectively to emergencies, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach when necessary.
  • Evaluation: Assesses the effectiveness of care, response to treatment, and participates in quality assurance activities.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum nine months RN experience, with at least one year in ED or successful completion of a related internship program.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licenses and certifications include RN license (Oregon), BLS, ACLS, PALS or equivalent, NIH Stroke Scale, and additional pediatric certifications.
  • Skills in computer use and emergency pediatric care preferred.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous healthcare experience, bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field, certifications such as CEN or TNCC, and proficiency in recognizing cardiac dysrhythmias. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also desirable.
