Diagnostic Technologist II

Role Overview: Provides diagnostic radiologic imaging under physician supervision, ensuring radiation safety and delivering high-quality patient care. The technologist operates imaging equipment, processes images for interpretation, and maintains safety protocols to protect patients and staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Produces diagnostic images, ensuring proper processing and documentation.
  • Maintains radiation safety standards, using appropriate exposure factors and collimation.
  • Confirms correct patient information, orders, and imaging details before completing studies.
  • Coordinates daily workflow, ensuring timely and accurate imaging procedures.
  • Ensures images are correctly archived in PACS and reports equipment malfunctions.
  • Assists in training new staff, students, and ancillary personnel.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent; less than 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety, medical terminology, and imaging technology.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and registered as a Radiologic Technologist in the state.
  • Ability to handle confidential information ethically and effectively.
  • Physical ability to lift 25 lbs, stand, sit, and perform patient care activities as needed.
