Diagnostic Radiology Technologist – Regional Float

Role Summary: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently execute radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, prepare and administer medications, and ensure data accuracy for interpretation by licensed practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct patient identification, ensure proper preparation, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and adhere to ALARA principles to ensure patient safety.
  • Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
  • Evaluate image quality, verify storage or transfer of data, and perform post-processing if needed.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist licensed practitioners during fluoroscopic and specialized procedures.
  • Perform radiographic procedures in various settings, including operating rooms and ICU.
  • Qualifications & Skills: Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; ARRT-R registry required within six months or within 24 months for advancement. Preferred bachelor’s degree related to healthcare.

    Work is conducted in a clinical setting, requiring compliance with policies and procedures. Additional department-specific skills are essential for success.
