Diagnostic Radiology Technologist – Per Diem

Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, prepare and administer medications, and ensure data quality for interpretation by licensed practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct orders, ensure patient identification and preparation, and document clinical history confidentially.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety and care.
  • Prepare and administer medications through vascular access as prescribed.
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and technical quality, verify data storage or transfer, and perform post-processing if needed.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the radiology department.

Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; ARRT-R certification required within 6 months for new graduates; ability to perform diagnostic radiography and fluoroscopy; attention to patient safety and technical quality; ability to follow policies and procedures.
