Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently conduct or assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring patient safety and image quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history with confidentiality.
Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate images for proper positioning and quality.
Verify data transfer and archival of images, and educate or monitor students and healthcare providers.
Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures across various settings, including operating rooms and ICU.
Qualifications & Skills:
Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
New graduates must obtain ARRT-R certification within six months.
Applicants hired after a certain date should complete steps to advance to level 2 within 24 months.
Proficiency in radiographic procedures, patient care, and adherence to safety regulations.
