Diagnostic Radiology Technologist – Per Diem

Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently conduct or assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring patient safety and image quality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history with confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate images for proper positioning and quality.
  • Verify data transfer and archival of images, and educate or monitor students and healthcare providers.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures across various settings, including operating rooms and ICU.

    Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • New graduates must obtain ARRT-R certification within six months.
  • Applicants hired after a certain date should complete steps to advance to level 2 within 24 months.
  • Proficiency in radiographic procedures, patient care, and adherence to safety regulations.
