Diagnostic Radiology Technologist – Per Diem

Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research-related imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety.
  • Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate images for quality and proper positioning.
  • Verify data storage and transfer, and assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and perform procedures outside the radiology department when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire; advancement to level 2 within 24 months if hired after a specified date.
  • Strong understanding of radiographic techniques, patient care, and safety protocols.

The role is performed primarily in a clinical setting, requiring compliance with organizational policies and continuous professional development. Emphasis is on patient-centered care, safety, and teamwork.
