Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research-related imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate images for quality and proper positioning.
- Verify data storage and transfer, and assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and perform procedures outside the radiology department when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire; advancement to level 2 within 24 months if hired after a specified date.
- Strong understanding of radiographic techniques, patient care, and safety protocols.
