Role Overview: CT Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, performing computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures. They acquire, analyze, and verify data for diagnosis and intervention, working independently or alongside licensed practitioners. Responsibilities include preparing patients, ensuring correct imaging protocols, optimizing technical factors, and maintaining safety standards aligned with ALARA principles. They also evaluate image quality, document activities, and assist with interventional procedures.
Key Duties:
- Ensure proper patient identification, preparation, and confidentiality adherence.
- Perform imaging procedures with attention to safety, quality, and accuracy.
- Evaluate images and verify data transfer and storage.
- Administer medications as prescribed, including vascular access management.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare colleagues.
- Assist licensed practitioners during interventional CT procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required at hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
- Advanced certification within 24 months for hires after a specified date.
- Graduation from a radiologic technology training program; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety, imaging protocols, and patient care.
