Role Overview: Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently operate or assist licensed practitioners in conducting CT and molecular imaging, ensuring accurate data acquisition and analysis for diagnosis and intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct patient information, ensure proper identification, and prepare patients for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and prioritize patient safety following ALARA principles.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate image quality and positioning.
- Verify data transfer and archival; assist with interventional procedures and educate students and healthcare providers.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate commitment to departmental priorities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) with ARRT-CT certification.
- Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in routine and complex duties, with a focus on patient safety, technical skill, and teamwork.
