Role Overview: The CT Technologist I is responsible for performing computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, and assisting licensed practitioners with interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure correct patient identification, proper exam preparation, and documentation of clinical history.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate images for quality and accuracy.
- Assist in interventional procedures and educate/stimulate students and healthcare providers.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies regarding radiation and medication administration.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
- Graduate of a radiologic technology program; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Ability to perform CT procedures independently and work in a clinical environment.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety, imaging protocols, and patient care standards.
