Role Overview: A CT Technologist I is responsible for performing computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They prepare patients, ensure proper identification, utilize appropriate imaging protocols, and optimize technical factors while prioritizing patient safety in line with ALARA principles. The technologist evaluates image quality, verifies data transfer, and assists licensed practitioners with interventional procedures. They also educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, prepare patients, and document clinical history confidentiality.
- Administer medications and radiation exposure following regulations.
- Assess images for quality, positioning, and proper data archival.
- Support interventional CT procedures and patient safety protocols.
- Educate colleagues and students, and assist licensed practitioners as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to starting.
- Completion of a Radiologic Technology training program; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Ability to perform procedures independently and adhere to safety and legal standards.
