CT Technologist

Position Overview: The CT Technologist applies expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience within a collaborative care team. This role involves performing CT procedures according to department guidelines, operating imaging equipment independently, and ensuring diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA). The technologist maintains equipment, adheres to infection control protocols, and obtains clinical history to ensure patient safety. They explain procedures, address patient questions, and provide age-appropriate care to enhance comfort and reduce anxiety. Responsibilities include positioning patients, administering contrast with sterile techniques, reviewing images for diagnostic quality, and documenting studies accurately in RIS/PACS. The role also involves responding to emergencies, supporting department operations, and maintaining a clean, organized environment. Collaboration with team members and compliance with regulatory standards are essential.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Minimum 1 year radiology experience required
  • Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), BLS (American Heart Association)

Key Duties:

  • Perform CT scans according to protocols, capturing high-quality images
  • Operate imaging equipment safely, adjusting techniques as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and report equipment issues promptly
  • Screen patients, verify orders, and explain procedures using AIDET
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout exams
  • Administer contrast agents and perform venipuncture when necessary
  • Review and finalize images, document procedures accurately, and support departmental workflows
  • Respond to emergencies, monitor patient condition, and support department operations
