The technologist maintains equipment, adheres to infection control protocols, and obtains clinical history to ensure patient safety. They explain procedures, address patient questions, and provide age-appropriate care to enhance comfort and reduce anxiety. Responsibilities include positioning patients, administering contrast with sterile techniques, reviewing images for diagnostic quality, and documenting studies accurately in RIS/PACS. The role also involves responding to emergencies, supporting department operations, and maintaining a clean, organized environment. Collaboration with team members and compliance with regulatory standards are essential.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Minimum 1 year radiology experience required
- Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), BLS (American Heart Association)
Key Duties:
- Perform CT scans according to protocols, capturing high-quality images
- Operate imaging equipment safely, adjusting techniques as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and report equipment issues promptly
- Screen patients, verify orders, and explain procedures using AIDET
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout exams
- Administer contrast agents and perform venipuncture when necessary
- Review and finalize images, document procedures accurately, and support departmental workflows
