CT Technologist

Role Overview: The CT Technologist applies expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience, functioning as a vital member of the clinical team. They perform CT procedures following department protocols, operate imaging equipment independently, and adjust techniques to ensure diagnostic accuracy while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA). They are responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment, obtaining clinical histories, verifying orders, and explaining procedures using AIDET to reduce patient anxiety. The role includes ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy, administering contrast agents when needed, positioning patients correctly, reviewing images for diagnostic quality, and documenting procedures accurately in RIS/PACS. Additionally, they monitor patient conditions, respond to emergencies, support department workflows, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Collaboration with team members and supporting operational tasks are essential components of the role.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum 1 year of radiology experience.
  • Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (American Heart Association).

  • Operate imaging equipment safely, adjusting techniques to optimize image quality and patient safety.
  • Maintain infection control standards, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure readiness.
  • Obtain patient histories, verify orders, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety.
  • Administer contrast agents using sterile techniques when required.
  • Position patients correctly, ensure privacy, and apply safety measures.
  • Review and process images, ensuring diagnostic quality, and document procedures thoroughly.
  • Respond to patient emergencies and support departmental workflows efficiently.
  • Support operational and compliance activities, including maintaining a clean and organized environment.
