Position Overview: Supports hospital-wide patient care in respiratory therapy, managing conditions like asthma and respiratory distress. Provides evaluation and treatment planning for patients with respiratory issues, monitors patient progress, and implements advanced respiratory care modalities. Educates patients and families about health conditions and community resources. Assists with equipment maintenance, inventory, and responds to emergency resuscitation calls.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Implement, monitor, and document treatment and equipment use.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust as needed based on patient outcomes.
- Provide patient and family education on health conditions and support programs.
- Maintain and sterilize respiratory equipment and manage departmental supplies.
- Respond to emergency calls from the resuscitation team.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist credential from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
- Current BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
