Role Overview
The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that promote residents’ health and enjoyment while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals according to standardized recipes and menus
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet established standards
- Follow dietary modifications and special meal requirements
- Record production quantities and monitor food safety temperatures
- Stock, rotate, date, and store food adhering to safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, storage, and equipment areas
- Complete cleaning logs and equipment maintenance reports
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines
- Support dishwashing and dining services as needed
- Lead food production in the absence of the Dining Services Coordinator
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in food preparation and kitchen safety protocols
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
- Strong organizational and cleanliness standards
- Effective teamwork and communication skills
