Role Overview

The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that promote residents’ health and enjoyment while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals according to standardized recipes and menus
  • Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet established standards
  • Follow dietary modifications and special meal requirements
  • Record production quantities and monitor food safety temperatures
  • Stock, rotate, date, and store food adhering to safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, storage, and equipment areas
  • Complete cleaning logs and equipment maintenance reports
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines
  • Support dishwashing and dining services as needed
  • Lead food production in the absence of the Dining Services Coordinator

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in food preparation and kitchen safety protocols
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Strong organizational and cleanliness standards
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills

This role offers a pay range of $17.30 – $21.70 and benefits including health plans, retirement, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and bonus opportunities. The position contributes to creating a positive dining experience, fostering community and well-being for residents.
