Role Overview:
This position is for a licensed Pharmacist focused on oncology pharmacy within a comprehensive cancer center. The pharmacist will support high-quality cancer care by overseeing sterile medication compounding for infusion patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe, effective medication use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage workflow and supervise technicians, interns, and volunteers to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees, serving as a medication therapy resource.
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness based on patient condition, organ function, and therapies.
- Provide counseling and education to promote optimal drug therapy.
- Ensure timely and precise medication preparation, dispensing, storage, and disposal.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety and efficiency in medication use processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctorate preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience; supervision experience is a plus.
- Licenses: RPh and Medication Therapy Services in MO.
- Strong knowledge of medication management, regulatory compliance, and collaborative teamwork.
