Clinical Nurse – Vascular Access

Role Overview:

This position involves providing vascular access care to inpatient and outpatient populations, utilizing traditional techniques and advanced ultrasound-guided technology for placing peripheral IVs, midlines, and PICC lines. The nurse assesses, maintains, and troubleshoots vascular access devices, including declotting occluded lines and resolving mechanical issues. Training is provided to develop competency in ultrasound-guided procedures. Qualifications include an RN license, with preferred criteria being a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and at least 2 years of experience. Knowledge of vascular access, PICC lines, and ultrasound IV training is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vascular access procedures using ultrasound technology and traditional methods.
  • Assess, maintain, and troubleshoot vascular access devices, ensuring catheter patency and addressing mechanical issues.
  • Educate patients and families on care, post-treatment management, and medication administration.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients.
  • Participate in promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, as well as ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • RN license required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience in vascular access, PICC placement, or ultrasound IV training is advantageous.
