Clinical Nurse – Operating Room

Role Overview:

Provides direct patient care in the operating room, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, adhering to nursing standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication use. Participates in ensuring patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while engaging in ongoing professional development. Develops and documents individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team, patient, and family, ensuring effective communication across the care continuum. Utilizes critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations. This is a safety-sensitive role requiring alertness and safe working practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • RN license with a Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s preferred
  • Experience in operating room settings preferred; no supervisory experience required
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Key Duties:

  • Assess and evaluate patient needs physically, psychosocially, and emotionally
  • Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families on care management, medication, and post-discharge needs
  • Participate in activities that promote safety, quality, and compliance
  • Continuously pursue professional growth and development
