Clinical Nurse – Oncology

Role Overview:

Provides direct patient care to female patients with GYN Oncology needs, including chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, symptom, pain, palliative, and hospice care. Care is moderate to high acuity with high complexity interventions, coordinated by a multidisciplinary team of oncology-trained nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, social workers, pharmacists, spiritual care providers, and physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote patient and family-centered care by educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication use.
  • Participate in activities enhancing patient safety, quality, and compliance; engage in professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with clear goals, ensuring effective communication across care teams.
  • Assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BSN or ADN required; RN license essential.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and at least 2 years of experience.
  • Safety-sensitive role requiring alertness and safe working practices.

This role involves critical assessment, care planning, patient education, and collaboration within a high-acuity oncology setting to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care.
