Clinical Nurse Observation Unit

Role Overview: Provides direct patient care in a fast-paced, team-oriented 24-bed Observation Unit, caring for patients requiring short-term treatment, monitoring, and recovery typically within 24 hours.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and families on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
  • Participate in ensuring patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in ongoing professional development.
  • Use critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and barriers to involvement.

Most patients are discharged within 24 hours, providing opportunities to observe the full continuum of care and develop assessment and critical thinking skills.


Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Licenses: Current RN license.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; 2+ years preferred for advanced roles.
