The Surgical Technologist provides assistance to surgeons during pediatric surgeries, following AORN and OSA standards. They collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver cost-effective, patient-centered care and offer excellent customer service to patients, families, nurses, and physicians. Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, preparing age-appropriate instruments, utilizing physician preference cards, and passing instrumentation. The role promotes open communication, teamwork, and quality improvement initiatives. Candidates must have an Associate’s degree from an accredited program, be certified as a CST, and obtain CPR certification within two weeks of hire. The position involves working both main and south campuses, with scheduled hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7 AM to 7 PM. The role may require taking call and involves participating in departmental goals and educational activities.
