Role Overview
Provides anesthesia care in the Operating Room to support surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under supervision. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, intraoperative anesthesia management, and postoperative follow-up, acting as a patient advocate and liaison among patients, families, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Anesthetizes patients, selects drugs, and manages anesthesia induction and maintenance.
- Responds to emergencies, monitors patient status, and adjusts medications accordingly.
- Communicates patient condition with surgical and anesthesia teams.
- Assesses patient hemodynamics, interprets waveforms, and ensures patient stability.
- Performs preoperative evaluations, organizes OR equipment, and conducts diagnostic checks.
- Coordinates with staff to ensure a safe surgical environment, including patient positioning and equipment troubleshooting.
- Provides anesthesia support, accurately documents in EMR, and transports patients safely.
- Serves as a mentor and preceptor to peers, staff, residents, students, and nurses.
