Certified Nursing Assistant – Nursing Float Pool

Role Overview:

This position supports patient care activities under the supervision of a registered or licensed nurse, assisting with routine tasks, clerical duties, and organization within a nursing unit. The role involves aiding with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, preparing rooms, and ensuring patient belongings are secured during transitions.

Key responsibilities include transporting stable patients safely, maintaining confidentiality, managing supplies and equipment, and assisting in creating a safe, comfortable environment. The role also requires performing unit-specific patient care tasks, monitoring patient condition changes, and promptly reporting any concerns to nursing staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Patient care experience in an acute care setting is advantageous

Required CNA license in the applicable state

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Strong communication skills and ability to adapt care to meet diverse patient needs

Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and work collaboratively within a team

Additional Duties:

Assisting with inventory management and unit organization

Responding to patient call lights and phone communications

Supporting staff in maintaining a clean and safe environment
