Position Overview: Provides direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting, assisting physicians and healthcare teams under provider supervision. Responsible for patient preparation, vital signs, screening, medication review, documentation, and maintaining a safe environment. Performs technical duties such as EKGs, wound dressings, minor surgical support, and specimen collection, ensuring competency and adherence to protocols. Handles administrative tasks including scheduling, filing reports, billing inquiries, and patient communication. Supports clinic operations by inventory management, instrument sterilization, and room setup, following infection control standards. Contributes to patient education, safety initiatives, and quality improvement efforts.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred; certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) required from recognized governing bodies (NHA, AMT, AAMA, etc.). Strong clinical and clerical skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Ability to operate medical equipment, perform phlebotomy, and follow infection control procedures. Must demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork.
