Role Overview: The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care, supports clinical operations, and ensures efficient workflow in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities: Obtain and document patient information, prepare examination rooms, assist with patient preparations, perform EKGs, wound dressings, and minor procedures.
Prepare and administer medications, collect lab specimens, perform phlebotomy, and support laboratory functions.
Handle receptionist duties, document in electronic records, coordinate appointments, process referrals, and collect co-payments.
Assist with patient education, inventory supplies, sterilize instruments, and maintain infection control protocols.
Participate in safety and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required, with certification from recognized associations such as NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.
Demonstrates competency in clinical procedures, strong organizational skills, and ability to communicate effectively.
