Role Overview: Provides clinical and administrative support in a healthcare setting as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtains and documents patient information, including vital signs, visit reasons, medication review, and screening data.
- Prepares examination and treatment rooms, assists patients in preparing for visits, and ensures safety and privacy.
- Performs direct patient care such as EKGs, wound dressings, and supports minor surgical procedures.
- Prepares and administers medications (excluding intravenous) and completes tests and treatments per provider’s orders.
- Collects laboratory specimens, performs phlebotomy, and assists with lab functions under oversight.
- Supports clinic operations through receptionist and clerical duties, maintains accurate medical records, and manages patient scheduling and referrals.
- Facilitates patient education, manages inventory of supplies, sterilizes instruments, and maintains infection control protocols.
- Participates in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, and assists with onboarding new staff.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited training program in specialty healthcare, with current certification (CMA or RMA) from recognized associations. Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork are essential.
