Certified Medical Assistant – CMA

Role: Outpatient Certified Medical Assistant responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and document patient information, vital signs, and visit screening details using electronic medical records.
  • Assist in preparing examination and treatment rooms, ensuring patient safety and privacy.
  • Support providers during patient visits by performing procedures such as EKGs, wound dressings, and minor surgical assistance.
  • Prepare and administer medications, perform laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and collect specimens following policies and demonstrating competency.
  • Perform clerical duties including documentation, scheduling, referrals, and collecting co-payments.
  • Reinforce patient education, assist with new personnel orientation, and manage inventory of supplies and medications.
  • Maintain infection control protocols, sterilize instruments, and ensure equipment operates correctly.
  • Participate in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of a recognized 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program (preferred).
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required, certified by recognized associations.
  • Strong clinical skills, proficiency with electronic records, and excellent communication abilities.
