Role Overview
The Lead Caregiver serves as a shift leader in senior care settings, ensuring high-quality, consistent resident care while supporting and coaching team members. They manage shift assignments, monitor resident changes, and promote safety and compliance. The role involves providing hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), reviewing charting to align with Individualized Service Plans (ISP), and mentoring new staff.
Key responsibilities include leading shift coverage, coaching caregivers on service standards, and maintaining smooth shift transitions. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications, along with strong communication, delegation, and decision-making skills. Prior experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior care is preferred.
