Role Overview:
Lead and manage a team responsible for employee benefit plan compliance, including preparation, review, and electronic filing of Form 5500s and related documents. Oversee data analysis to ensure accuracy and adherence to federal regulations such as ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. Act as the primary contact for internal teams, external clients, and auditors, facilitating risk management, billing, collections, and project budgets. Stay current on evolving compliance requirements and uphold professional integrity in all interactions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in employee benefit plan compliance, tax, or audit, with at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Professional credentials such as CPA, JD/LLM, or EA are preferred, with a requirement to obtain approved credentials if not already held.
- Deep knowledge of ERISA and IRS regulations related to employee benefit plans.
- Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build client and team relationships.
