Role Overview:
This position is for an Assistant Nurse Manager in a high-volume, Level One Trauma Center, overseeing perioperative services in an active surgical environment. The role involves staff management, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations for a team of approximately 30 direct reports. Responsibilities include ensuring patient care aligns with planned interventions, managing staffing budgets, and maintaining operational efficiency. The position requires leadership in a fast-paced setting with complex surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
Key Duties:
- Manage staff including hiring, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
- Coordinate patient care and develop collaborative care plans
- Oversee staff scheduling, productivity, and departmental operational goals
- Ensure compliance with policies and maintain equipment and supplies
- Participate in budget development and respond to business needs
- Lead staff meetings and communication efforts
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and RN licensure
- 2-5 years of experience, with preferred 5-10 years and some supervisory background
- Leadership skills in a clinical setting, with experience in OR and management preferred
- Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment and demonstrate professional judgment and critical thinking
