Advanced Practice Provider – PRN – Observation

Role Overview: An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in PRN (Observation) provides comprehensive healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment, patient education, and referrals within designated primary or specialty areas. They serve as clinical resources and role models, supporting training, evaluation, and direct management of practitioners and students to ensure high-quality patient care.


  • Responsibilities: Conducts history-taking, physical exams, assessments, and orders tests; documents findings accurately; manages patient care plans; collaborates with physicians and refers patients as needed; involves patients and families in care decisions; educates for self-management; supports interdisciplinary teamwork; stays current with practice advancements; complies with relevant policies, laws, and regulations; maintains certifications and licenses; suggests process improvements; participates in departmental goal-setting and meetings.

  • Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant healthcare fields, with 2+ years of clinical experience as an APP. Must hold valid licensure and certifications, including BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, SAMA, NRP, and specific certifications based on practice area (e.g., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Nurse Midwife, Clinical Nurse Specialist). Demonstrates leadership, effective communication, patient-centered behaviors, and knowledge of policies and standards.

  • Key Duties: Provide clinical care, support quality improvement, ensure compliance, participate in education, and promote positive health outcomes through clinical expertise and collaborative practice.
