Role Overview: The Pharmacist provides safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy, developing and monitoring evidence-based care plans focused on patient outcomes and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pharmaceutical care in designated patient care areas, coordinating resources for efficient service.
- Interpret and clarify physicians’ medication orders, reviewing patient profiles for drug interactions, contraindications, and safety.
- Recommend formulary alternatives and advise medical staff on drug therapy issues, monitoring laboratory results.
- Provide drug information to healthcare teams, conduct discharge medication consultations, and make rounds with medical staff.
- Calculate dosages, verify orders, and prepare compounded sterile medications using aseptic techniques.
- Report supply needs, supervise pharmacy staff, and ensure compliance with departmental standards.
- Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to resolve pharmacy-related issues and assist with departmental policy updates.
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctoral degree preferred. Strong communication, clinical judgment, and supervisory skills are essential.
