The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing speech therapy services to ensure high-quality resident care in accordance with regulations and facility policies.
Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Conduct screenings for new and long-term residents based on referrals or changes in condition. Participate in facility meetings, staff education, and care planning to meet certification standards. Develop programs tailored to resident needs to promote optimal functioning. Ensure compliance with infection control, OBRA residents’ rights, and documentation standards. Manage caseload scheduling, assist with staff training, and communicate staffing needs. Maintain professional conduct, dress, and communication at all times. Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, state licensure, ASHA certification, and preferably SNF experience.
