Role Overview
This position involves providing direct patient care on an orthopedics unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing standards. The nurse will promote patient-centered care, educate patients and families on managing injuries or illnesses, and participate in safety, quality, and professional development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, values, and cultural factors.
- Participate in activities that ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement.
- Provide education on post-treatment care, medication administration, and illness management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree in Nursing; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred with at least 2 years of experience.
- Current RN licensure required.
- Experience in orthopedics and/or medical-surgical units is preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a healthcare environment.
