Role Overview: This position involves providing specialized neurocritical care to critically ill patients in a dedicated Neuro ICU. The nurse will assess complex neurological conditions, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care during critical recovery moments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed neurological assessments and monitor patients with conditions such as traumatic brain injuries, stroke, hemorrhage, and neuromuscular disorders.
- Work collaboratively with neuro-intensivists, neurosurgeons, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure patient safety, rapid clinical decision-making, and effective communication with patients and families.
- Maintain a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, emphasizing teamwork and clinical excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year of acute nursing experience.
- Current RN licensure in the appropriate state and BLS certification.
- Strong critical thinking, neuroanatomy knowledge, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.
